Position Overview
The Plant Operator - Oil and Gas Processing Facilities role in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, is an Oil and Energy hiring opportunity responsible for operating and monitoring process equipment within an assigned industrial area.

The position will maintain stable plant conditions, identify equipment abnormalities, support maintenance preparation, handle process chemicals, and assist with start-up and shutdown activities. All duties must follow approved operating procedures, permit requirements, and company HSE standards.

Role Context
Safe plant operation depends on continuous observation, accurate adjustments, and timely communication whenever equipment or process conditions deviate from normal limits. Operators provide the frontline control needed to protect people, production, assets, and the environment.

The Plant Operator will coordinate closely with the reporting supervisor, maintenance teams, and contractors. Careful preparation and monitoring will reduce operational interruptions while ensuring that servicing, chemical handling, and emergency activities are completed safely.

Key Responsibilities
The role will combine process monitoring, field-equipment operation, maintenance coordination, chemical preparation, and emergency support.

* Perform assigned plant-operating duties safely and according to Standard Operating Procedures.
* Monitor equipment, process conditions, and assigned facilities throughout the shift.
* Conduct routine field inspections and identify abnormal noise, vibration, leakage, temperature, or performance.
* Report equipment defects promptly and coordinate servicing requirements with the supervisor.
* Adjust speeds, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates within authorized operating limits.
* Support safe and effective plant start-up and shutdown activities.
* Prepare process equipment and systems for planned or corrective maintenance.
* Confirm equipment isolation and coordination with connected plant systems before work begins.
* Receive process chemicals and verify that deliveries meet operational requirements.
* Maintain accurate chemical stock and consumption records.
* Prepare chemical batches according to approved procedures and HSE controls.
* Operate machinery and process equipment safely and efficiently.
* Obtain work permits and follow the progress of ongoing maintenance jobs.
* Monitor contractor activities for compliance with permits, safety rules, and approved procedures.
* Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental-management requirements.
* Support legislative compliance and responsible environmental performance.
* Perform Auxiliary Fireman or Site Safety Officer duties during emergencies when assigned.
* Follow the Facility Response Plan and supervisor instructions during incident-response activities.
* Maintain clear communication with the supervisor and other operating personnel.
* Prepare KPI commitment checklists and operational information for management review.
* Maintain accurate shift records and contribute to effective operational handovers.

Ideal Profile
Applicants should hold a relevant technical diploma or a secondary-school certificate. Applicable professional or vocational certification will provide an advantage.

A minimum of four years of plant-operations experience within a large industrial facility in the oil and gas sector is required.

The successful candidate should understand process equipment, operating procedures, start-up and shutdown activities, chemical handling, work permits, plant isolation, and HSE requirements. Strong observation, disciplined communication, practical problem-solving, and the ability to respond calmly during emergencies are essential.
