Role Context
Rotating machinery
The Rotating Equipment Engineer will connect production, maintenance, technical-services, project, vendor, and OEM teams. By addressing chronic problems and planning interventions before failure, the role will support plant availability, mechanical integrity, and sustainable asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
The position will combine equipment-reliability support, long-term overhaul planning, technical troubleshooting, contractor coordination, and maintenance governance.
* Support production and maintenance teams during equipment testing and troubleshooting.
* Conduct or coordinate routine surveillance of major rotating machinery.
* Provide technical assistance during equipment start-up and return-to-service activities.
* Train relevant employees on rotating-equipment operation, monitoring, and maintenance.
* Develop long-range machinery-overhaul plans using performance evaluations and operating hours.
* Work with production teams to protect the integrity and reliability of mechanical assets.
* Support the Senior Rotating Engineer with schedules, cost estimates, budgets, and technical activities.
* Review spare-parts requirements and confirm availability before planned work begins.
* Coordinate labor, tools, external resources, vendors, and OEM support for maintenance execution.
* Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis investigations following failures and equipment trips.
* Develop technical solutions and conduct risk assessments to reduce recurring machinery problems.
* Prepare scopes of work for the repair and refurbishment of major rotating-equipment parts.
* Coordinate service work orders, budgets, tracking, and receipt of repaired components.
* Supervise major equipment overhauls and ensure completion according to approved plans.
* Provide technical support to area maintenance and operations teams.
* Troubleshoot chronic machinery problems requiring detailed technical investigation.
* Maintain current equipment-history records and tracking databases.
* Use machinery history to plan the replacement of aged or high-risk components.
* Coordinate requests for technical services and review resulting recommendations.
* Implement approved technical-service recommendations within operational areas.
* Manage permanent and temporary plant-change requests affecting major equipment.
* Track plant changes from initiation and pre-FEED through FEED, execution, and final close-out.
* Review rotating-equipment documents for new projects, retrofits, modifications, service bulletins, and plant expansions.
* Supervise assigned activities and develop employee technical capability.
* Contribute to budget preparation, approved work plans, and cost-control activities.
* Investigate significant budget or performance variances and recommend corrective action.
* Implement applicable policies, standards, procedures, and legal requirements.
* Identify improved tools and maintenance techniques that increase operational efficiency.
* Comply with HSE, sustainability, and ADNOC Code of Practices requirements.
* Provide information for MIS reports, progress updates, and management reviews.
Ideal Profile
Applicants should hold a bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or Business Administration and have at least six years of relevant professional experience.
Previous work involving the operation and maintenance of rotating equipment within a large industrial organization is required, preferably in the oil and gas industry. Candidates should understand machinery performance analysis, maintenance standards, production requirements, and mechanical-asset reliability.
The successful candidate will demonstrate competence in business planning, performance measurement, economic analysis, production reporting, and plant risk controls. Strong planning, scheduling, coordination, inspection, recordkeeping, and technical problem-solving abilities are essential.
