Role Context
The Scheduling Manager will lead
Key Responsibilities
* Establish planning and scheduling standards, procedures, coding structures, calendars, WBS, CBS, reporting formats, and governance controls.
* Develop, integrate, and maintain Level 1 to Level 4 schedules and the Integrated Master Schedule.
* Ensure schedules contain robust logic, clear dependencies, valid interfaces, accurate milestones, and realistic activity sequencing.
* Prepare detailed schedules with activity-level resource loading, cost loading, progress rules, and measurable deliverables.
* Implement deliverable-based progress measurement methods and coordinate with discipline leads for regular schedule updates.
* Apply earned value management techniques to assess schedule performance, cost performance, progress trends, and delivery efficiency.
* Maintain bi-weekly earned value analysis dashboards at project and sector level.
* Review, check, and evaluate contractor and consultant schedules of works against contract requirements and approved procedures.
* Monitor work progress, compare actual performance against accepted programmes, and report key findings to the Project Director and Project Controls Manager.
* Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports covering schedule status, performance trends, risks, milestones, variance analysis, and recovery actions.
* Lead the review and finalization of contractor and design consultant baseline schedules and recovery schedules.
* Assess schedule submissions for logic quality, critical path validity, float use, milestone compliance, resource loading, and contractual alignment.
* Lead schedule risk assessments and quantify impacts to milestones, contingency, interfaces, and delivery commitments.
* Recommend mitigation measures, recovery strategies, resequencing options, and acceleration opportunities where schedule risks arise.
* Govern schedule change control processes and ensure changes are supported by clear time, cost, and scope impact analysis.
* Perform time impact analyses and support claims or forensic schedule reviews for contractor and consultant claims when required.
* Facilitate weekly and monthly schedule reviews, look-ahead planning sessions, and progress coordination meetings.
* Drive accountability for schedule deliverables across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
* Analyze critical path and near-critical path activities, identify constraints, and escalate schedule threats with practical recommendations.
* Support project controls reporting through schedule forecasting, trend analysis, variance reporting, and management dashboards.
* Present schedule findings clearly to senior stakeholders, project teams, clients, and delivery partners.
* Promote consistent planning discipline, accurate reporting, and proactive issue resolution across project controls activities.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
* Equivalent combination of education and relevant planning or scheduling experience may be considered.
* Typically 15 or more years of related project controls, planning, and scheduling experience.
* Previous experience as a Planning Manager, Scheduling Manager, or Scheduling Lead on large-scale projects.
* Strong experience performing, monitoring, and reviewing schedule development, schedule control, progress analysis, and schedule forecasting.
* Experience working across both field and home office project environments.
* Strong capability in progress measurement systems, variance analysis, trend analysis, critical path analysis, near-critical path analysis, and resource-loaded scheduling.
* Experience coordinating schedules across multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
* Practical experience performing time impact analyses and supporting claims or forensic schedule reviews.
* Experience on high-end hospitality projects is preferred.
* KSA or GCC project experience with internationally reputed firms is strongly preferred.
* Knowledge of engineering, construction management, procurement practices, and construction sequencing.
* Able to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present schedule deliverables independently with minimal supervision.
* Strong professional judgment in technical planning, scheduling methods, schedule risk, and project controls reporting.
* Proficient in project controls software, scheduling tools, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office applications.
* Familiarity with earned value management concepts and standard project controls reporting practices.
* Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to drive outcomes in a complex project environment.
