Role Context
The Program Manager - FC Capacity Planning will own the regional fulfillment center capacity-planning charter, including network capacity management, storage planning, performance metrics, and reporting. The role will compare projected inventory requirements with available fulfillment center capacity and identify risks before they affect operations or customer service.
Programs may include bin-slotting optimization, temporary and low-cost storage, new fulfillment center and distribution center launches, pop-up nodes, and regional distribution facilities. The manager will develop action plans, coordinate implementation, and ensure new site designs reflect Amazon\'s required capacity and operating standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Own fulfillment center capacity planning and metric reporting across the AMET region.
* Develop reliable reporting mechanisms for storage capacity, utilization, operational readiness, and future network requirements.
* Gather data from planning tools, operational systems, site teams, forecasts, and supply chain stakeholders.
* Analyze projected inventory demand against available fulfillment center capacity.
* Identify future storage constraints, operational bottlenecks, and network risks before they disrupt operations.
* Recommend practical and data-backed solutions for identified capacity gaps.
* Create action plans with clear owners, milestones, dependencies, and completion dates.
* Drive agreed capacity initiatives through implementation and performance review.
* Support Fulfillment Center Operations teams across Africa, the Middle East, and Türkiye with capacity analysis.
* Coordinate capacity execution with Supply Chain, Engineering, Technology, Operations, and launch teams.
* Develop innovative and cost-effective storage solutions for seasonal, temporary, and long-term capacity requirements.
* Evaluate options involving facility expansion, external storage, layout changes, inventory redistribution, and process adjustments.
* Conduct regular site audits covering capacity-planning requirements, operational conformance, and standard operating practices.
* Document audit findings and coordinate corrective actions with relevant site leaders.
* Work with engineering design teams to ensure storage and capacity requirements are included in facility layouts.
* Partner with fulfillment center launch teams to validate design assumptions before implementation.
* Review process flows, storage layouts, equipment positions, bin profiles, and operational dependencies.
* Lead capacity-planning projects that increase network capability and improve space utilization.
* Manage bin-slotting initiatives designed to improve storage density, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
* Support new fulfillment center and distribution center launches across the region.
* Coordinate pop-up node launches when temporary or additional capacity is required.
* Support the implementation of regional distribution centers and other network-expansion programs.
* Define project scope, business requirements, schedules, risks, resources, and governance mechanisms.
* Develop mitigation plans for schedule delays, design issues, resource constraints, and operational risks.
* Lead projects from initial scoping and analysis through execution, launch, and post-implementation review.
* Use advanced Microsoft Excel and SQL to analyze capacity, inventory, and operational performance data.
* Prepare project plans, executive updates, risk summaries, and decision documents.
* Present capacity risks, project progress, recommended investments, and operational requirements to senior leadership.
* Influence internal and external stakeholders without relying on direct reporting authority.
* Build repeatable tools, templates, processes, and planning mechanisms for future capacity initiatives.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor\'s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations, business administration, analytics, or a related discipline.
* At least 3 years of program management or project management experience.
* Minimum 3 years of experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
* At least 3 years of experience defining and implementing process improvements using data and performance metrics.
* Proven ability to define program requirements and convert analysis into operational improvements.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLookUps.
* Practical SQL knowledge for extracting, aggregating, and analyzing operational data.
* Strong understanding of project plans, schedules, dependencies, risks, and execution governance.
* Ability to combine information from several sources and develop clear recommendations.
* Experience managing complex programs in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
* Strong operational judgment when balancing capacity, cost, speed, quality, and scalability.
* Ability to collaborate with Supply Chain, Fulfillment Center Operations, Engineering, Design, Technology, and launch teams.
* Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills across multiple organizational levels.
* Excellent written communication and senior leadership presentation capability.
* Experience managing projects from initial concept through delivery and performance evaluation is preferred.
* At least 3 years of process-improvement experience is advantageous.
* Previous exposure to fulfillment centers, warehouses, storage planning, network design, inventory management, or facility launches is beneficial.
