Role Context
Customer returns can lose value when inspection, grading, refurbishment or resale processes are inconsistent or inefficient. This role will build the operational capabilities needed to recover more value from returned units while maintaining reliable quality standards and a positive customer experience.
The manager will work with Amazon Customer Excellence System, Learning and Development, Product, Engineering, Category, Finance, Procurement, Data Science, Returns and Customer Experience, and external business partners. The solutions developed may support AMET operations and wider international markets.
Key Responsibilities
This position combines detailed operational analysis with regional program ownership and fulfilment-center implementation.
* Analyze Customer Returns data to identify the root causes of value loss.
* Examine fulfilment-center processes, defects and recovery outcomes.
* Develop new solutions or replicate successful practices from other markets.
* Track implementation results and quantify the value recovered.
* Improve the effectiveness of Customer Returns operational capabilities.
* Standardize performance metrics, workflows and operating procedures across AMET.
* Align value-recovery practices with relevant Rest of World markets.
* Build deep subject-matter expertise in returns processing and recovery channels.
* Design product and process solutions that improve refurbishment or resale outcomes.
* Implement new recovery capabilities within fulfilment centers.
* Define program requirements, success measures and implementation priorities.
* Coordinate launches with technical and non-technical teams.
* Influence stakeholders and build consensus around proposed changes.
* Resolve operational, technical and commercial barriers to implementation.
* Communicate progress, risks and measurable results to senior leadership.
* Maintain clear ownership of projects in a fast-moving and ambiguous environment.
Ideal Profile
The successful candidate will combine operational knowledge with the commercial judgment required to protect product value. They should be comfortable investigating complex data, challenging established processes and leading initiatives across teams that have different priorities.
* At least 5 years of experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
* Minimum 5 years of team-management experience.
* At least 5 years of cross-functional project-delivery experience.
* Minimum 5 years of program or project management experience.
* Experience defining program requirements and success criteria.
* Proven ability to use data and metrics to identify improvements.
* Strong troubleshooting and structured problem-solving capability.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
* Experience analyzing and presenting results to senior leadership is preferred.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities with effective time control.
* Experience delivering operational improvements or new fulfilment-center launches is advantageous.
