- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all electrical systems on board the cruise ship, including generators, motors, switchboards, and control panels.
- Troubleshoot and repair any electrical issues that may arise during the voyage.
- Maintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance and repairs.
- Collaborate with the Chief Electrical Engineer and other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of the vessel and crew.
- Assist in the training and development of junior electrical engineers.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in electrical engineering.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a 2nd Electrical Engineer on board a vessel.
- Knowledge of marine electrical systems and equipment.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with other crew members.
- Willingness to work long hours and be on call for emergencies.
- Valid seafarer's medical certificate and STCW certifications.
