Responsible for the FS commissioning activities
Manage resource planning and workload for the self to ensure 90% and above billable ratio
Liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team
Support to operations team to control projects effectively in terms of budgeted profitability, planning, and general reporting (internal / external), ensure that agreements with customer for documentation lead times, delivery, reliability and quality are achieved within the budgetary constraints agreed within the unit
Coordinate workplace EHS issues and ensure availability of suitable PPE for T&C personnel, both internal and subcontracted
Ensure high levels of team motivation and effective cooperation with other branches of engineering such as CCS & DCS and M&D
Ensure commitments to customer are met in accordance with contract with clear feedback through consistent customer interaction, e.g. communication, (phone, e-mail, etc.) and customer meetings, periodic reviews etc.
Knowledge of schemes and application of protection relays in electrical networks including HV & EHV systems, and state-of-the-art technologies in substation automation
Knowledge of competitor products is advantageous
Have a working knowledge of commercial, contractual conditions, ideally in electrical power system or associate industries
Experience of managing projects for protection and control systems is a distinct advantage
Test Engineer (GE / ALSTOM Substation Automation System) will be responsible for testing of Substation Automation System used for various voltage levels in UAE.
The incumbent will be responsible for different project phases (Engineering design, Pre-FAT, FAT, site acceptance works, SAT, and close out), understanding the client requirement, understanding of project specific documents, preparation of RTU & HMI & configuration based on approved documents, testing of the same and inspection with customer in factory, support to Project Management/Engineering/Commissioning team for smooth execution of the Project.
3-4 years of experience in configuration, testing and troubleshooting of GE/ALSTOM Substation Automation products/Systems.
Experienced about ethernet switches, router and firewall, different architectures RSTP, PRP and HSR, different type of communication ethernet, fiber optic, serial RS232/RS485, PLCC etc.
Have knowledge substation automation and communication protocol SNMP, SNTP, Modbus, IEC60870-5-103, IEC61850, IEC60870-5-101 and IEC60870-5-104
Able to be reading panel drawings/scheme
Verifications of technical compliances of HW/SW GE/ALSTOM systems
Preparation of HMI configuration like SLD, system architecture, bay views, interlock views, alarms, events, etc.
Testing of SCS system and integration with different types of IEDs/meters/devices, understanding network
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in electrical or computer engineering
Strong oral and written communication skills in English
Transformers design process experience would be an asset
Knowledge of GA products and systems, especially automation
Min. 5 years' experience in relevant field
