- Ensure that all food is cooked and presented in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all food safety and sanitation standards
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure they are following proper cooking techniques and safety procedures
- Collaborate with other departments, such as the dining room and housekeeping, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
- Adhere to budget and cost control measures to minimize food waste and expenses
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and dress code
- Assist with menu planning and development, taking into account guest feedback and dietary trends
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a cook in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a cruise ship or hotel setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Flexibility to work long hours and adapt to changing schedules
- Must have a valid food handler\'s certificate or equivalent
- Must pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug test
