Legal Counsel - Luxury Hospitality

Elevate your legal career as a Legal Counsel at Accor in Dubai, where you will provide comprehensive legal support to the Luxury & Lifestyle business units in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the legal team and business partners to guide and fulfill their legal needs across corporate, operations, procurement, development, and legal administration functions. Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management and Negotiation:
- Create and update development templates for agreements, including Hotel Management, Consultancy Services, Franchise, Brand Licensing, Master Services, Residential Management, Rental Services, and Residence Owner Services.
- Assist in negotiating property development deals with owners and drafting initial development agreements.
- Develop operational template agreements for marketing, services, procurement, and employment-related matters.
- Review and approve template agreements submitted by business units, especially those under EUR 50,000.

Legal Advisory and Support:
- Provide legal support in negotiations, disputes, and risk management for business units across the MEA region.
- Conduct legal research and prepare advice/position papers on relevant legal issues across multiple jurisdictions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures for the MEA region.
- Provide strategic legal advice on risk management and Hotel Management Agreement (HMA) interpretations.

Training and System Management:
- Prepare and conduct training sessions, create legal guides, and deliver presentations to assist business units in their day-to-day operations.
- Manage and update the Agiloft system with new agreements, amendments, and supplemental correspondences.
- Train business units on using the Agiloft system for legal documentation and compliance.

Corporate Secretarial and External Liaison:
- Support the corporate secretarial function for luxury companies in the region.
- Liaise with external counsel on assigned legal matters and manage legal expenditures.

Risk Assessment and Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date on legal developments in the MEA region and identify potential legal risks for the company.
- Provide proactive advice on compliance, risk management, and legal interpretations to ensure legal protection and brand integrity.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:
- Common Law qualification (US, Canada, UK, Singapore, Australia, or similar).
- 2-6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within the region.
- Background in hospitality with exposure to core hotel management documents is an advantage.
- Commercial experience in drafting, negotiating, and resolving contract disputes.
- Expertise in Corporate Law, Employment Law, or Procurement.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and strategic legal advisory.
- Experience in working with luxury lifestyle brands or international hospitality is a plus.

Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders across luxury brands.
- Strong negotiation skills and sound judgment in legal and commercial matters.
- Adaptability and resilience with the flexibility to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments.
