This leader will report to the EHS Compliance Leader and will work to safeguard GE Vernova in accordance with legal requirements such as Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (US), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021, CSRD/TSRD EU Directives, CSR EU Directive2014/95/EU, REACH, RoHS/WEEE, Conflict Mineral, and OSHA/EU OSHA. They will also be responsible for conducting internal and external audits for compliance assurance with the GE Vernova EHS Governance Program. The EHS Audit and Environmental Compliance Leader will support cross business communities of EHS P&L lead auditors, collaborate closely with the GE Vernova Legal Counsel, and develop the EHS Governance Audit training program for internal auditors. This role will also cover critical Environmental Compliance processes including Permit Review process, Waste Site Audit program, and support data governance for Waste and Water reporting requirements across GE Vernova.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the EHS Governance Audit training program for internal auditors across GE Vernova in accordance with the EHS Governance Program.
Provide leadership and direction in the design and implementation of GE Vernovas EHS Audit and Certification program globally, including ongoing support, assessment, and continuous improvement,
Measure the businesses performance against the requisite standard, reporting on findings and driving improvement opportunities
Collaborate with EHS and Operational stakeholders to deliver targeted information on Governance and Auditing best practices EHS and operations leadership.
Provide direction and support for Environmental Compliance programs including permit review process
Manage Waste Site audit program including training
Data governance for key metrics including waste and water in collaboration with sustainability team.
Operate as EHS liaison with external audit agencies
Perform other duties as directed
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent knowledge or experience in engineering or another relevant technical / business field required.
Senior professional with significant experience in large, regulated, high hazard industrial companies, where there is field-based work.
Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills
Experience as a lead auditor (ISO 9001/ISO 45001)
Experience in mentoring and providing training on or to the EHS team
Extensive experience with complex accident/incident investigations
Strong knowledge of EHS issues and regulatory framework both health and safety and environmental including air and water permitting and waste compliance
Desired Characteristics:
Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills
Experience with front line EHS management
Experience in Quality or Lean Management
Demonstrated team building and engagement with staff, customers, consultants and contractors
Extensive knowledge of the Energy Industry
Experience in operating Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) tools
Strong analytic skills, ability to analyze complex data set
If contracted in the U.S. the following apply:
The salary range for this position is 146,900.00 - 195,900.00 - 244,900.00 USD Annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 15% variable incentive compensation.
