Requirements:
A candidate who is a good fit will love the opportunity to be involved in a company early in its set up and expansion, as well as cutting-edge legal issues and working closely with a team.
2+ years of experience in intellectual property, technology, marketing/advertising, promotions, or entertainment law, in-house or at a law firm.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Paralegal experience.
Any interest or experience in media would be preferred
Ability to assess priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
A passion for video games is not required, but nice to have.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Build strong relationships with business clients by partnering with internal stakeholders to provide legal support across the business.
Review video game assets and marketing materials for release, including by conducting intellectual property clearance and reviewing for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company standards and game rating requirements.
Manage the company's trademark portfolio.
Manage ongoing company annual regulatory filings.
Negotiate and draft certain company standard agreements, including NDAs and Services Agreements.
Assist the business in execution of promotions, including reviewing promotion creative assets for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Conduct legal research for other members of the legal team.
Build and maintain a solid understanding of the video game industry, company portfolio of products, and relevant laws by keeping up with industry news and attending legal conferences.
About the Role:
We are looking for a paralegal to support the legal team, assisting with all legal matters handled by the legal department but with a focus on video game publishing and development, marketing, IP, and corporate legal issues.
