We are looking for a dynamic Equipment Manager to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. The Equipment Manager, is responsible for the execution of preventative maintenance and reliability engineering for cranes and all terminal related equipment. The incumbent controls the execution of maintenance work and ensures the works conform to the relevant specifications and standards.

Key responsibilities:
Follow-up and ensure the execution of planned work for the terminal equipment
Submit routine and critical inspection and monitoring reports by ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is logged.
Ensure that planned work is followed up by reporting to the Asset Manager.
Assume additional responsibility for maintenance in the absence of maintenance supervisors
Carry out those duties assigned by the Asset Manager
Ensure that the department is adequately staffed to achieve objectives, and that technicians are aware of procedures for using new products and equipment.
Facilitate the orientation of new team members by familiarizing them with work surroundings, explaining work hours, procedures, use of equipment and job expectations and ensure that new team members understand their respective duties.
Maintain good relationships with operations.
Ensure adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the Service Area.
Facilitate the training and development of team members in the department, by providing feedback and coaching to support improvements in their job performance.
Provide advice and technical assistance to team members.
Evaluate the impact of work delays, interruptions or changes in plans to develop appropriate course of actions.
Monitor workflow to anticipate impact of delays due to team members being absent for leaves, holidays or sickness.
Review and inspect the quality of a technician repairs before the release of equipment.
Review work orders to ensure that all actions have been documented according to CMMS policies and procedures.
Plan and adjust the workloads of department personnel to match their skills and abilities
Assist the Asset Maintenance department in managing 3rd party contractors, preparing budgets and aligning M&R strategy
Who we are looking for:
Engineering or Technical degree from an Accredited university
2-3 years of relevant work experience in an industrial machinery environment -marine port terminal preferred.
Professionalism in a Port/Terminal environment
Ability to manage contracts and personnel
Can work with a wide range of cultures and personnel
Works shift hours
Maintains high energy levels over long periods of time
