As a highly valued member of the Dallas, TX Team, this position will lead the materials team to ensure all delivery, inventory, and plant objectives are attained for materials flow. Will support demand management efforts to ensure that inventory turns and levels are met each month. Provides leadership and project management within the plant striving to make related improvements. Uses new and existing technology to improve the accuracy and productivity of plant systems. Provides focus, training, and tools for the team to succeed in their objectives.
AS A MATERIALS MANAGER, YOU WILL:
Lead materials team in meeting objectives and developing strategy.
Responsible for providing high-quality leadership and direction for continuous improvement in safety, customer delivery, cost performance, and quality.
Oversee and maintain optimal inventory levels to support the facility while avoiding excess stock. Implement and monitor inventory controls.
Analyze material costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
Continuously seek and implement improvements in materials handling and inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Utilize technology and existing systems to manage forecasts.
Manage employee relations skills to manage best and utilize the skills of the materials team.
Use excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate at all levels of the job, from hourly reports to suppliers and customers.
Maintain knowledge of materials systems to oversee all aspects of running the department.
Monitor and ensure daily accurate inventory transactions and resolve any identified issues or discrepancies.
Plan and conduct an annual physical inventory to result in 100% accurate verification of inventory stocking locations and proper inventory controls and procedures.
Other duties/projects as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:?
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum of seven (7) years experience with significant exposure to materials, supply chain management, or manufacturing operations.
Strong computer skills, proficient in Excel
Capable of utilizing Lean tools such as Kanban, VSM, pull systems, demand-driven Supply Chain, and Perfect Execution strategies.
Excellent communication skills
Experience with MS Office Suite, and programs such as Oracle or Manhattan
Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role now or in the future.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Seven (7) years of relevant experience, specifically in the materials department.
Excellent communication skills in English / Spanish
Knowledge of Oracle and Manhattan WMS
