Identifying, maintaining and ensuring correct function and safety of surgical instruments.
Preparing instruments sets, packing supplementary items i.e. dressing set, suture set and etc. according to designated procedures and checklists, wrapping and sealing the instruments. Preparing lists of contents and maintaining control system for items processed.

Responsibilities
Loads and unloads sterilizers transfer carts to ensure smooth and timely processing and delivery of sterile instruments by carefully and properly handling items on the cart, as outlined in the department procedure manual.
Sterilize surgical instruments, equipment and supplies, such as instruments packs, and treatment packs, using steam or plasma sterilizers.
Place articles in sterilizers and process according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Operate automatic and semi-automatic washing and sterilizing equipment.
Run sterilizer function tests as required by the hospital and departmental policies, reporting any abnormal results to the manager.
Maintain necessary and accurate records of sterilizer function tests and document any malfunctions and repairs.
Inspect, release and store sterile items in a manner which will preserve their sterile integrity.
Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene at all times and wear normal surgical attire when working within the department.
Visit all departments once in a month check expiry, availability and functioning status of all instruments
Immediately reports for any biomedical equipment breakdowns to the biomedical department and also to the CSSD In-charge.
To perform a full range of CSSD tasks
Ensure adequate stock of all related consumables
Promotes and adheres to infection control and occupational safety & health standards
Perform all other duties as require or assigned
