Key Responsibilities:
Lead the establishment and enforcement of the Authority's regulatory framework, ensuring alignment with the objectives of stakeholders and adherence to relevant standards.
Serve as the primary legal advisor, providing thorough guidance on legal, regulatory, legislative, policy, litigation, and governance matters.
Assess legal risks and ensure the Authority is protected from legal exposure and liabilities.
Oversee the compliance function to ensure that all companies and individuals (licensees, contractors, consultants, etc.) comply with the Authority's regulations related to company licensing, employment, construction, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
Stay updated with changes in laws and regulations to ensure the Authority's compliance and advocacy initiatives are current and effective.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the Authority in negotiations and lobbying activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Law or a relevant field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a legal advisory role, with at least 6 years in a management capacity.
Proficiency in both English and Arabic, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of free zone laws, rules, and regulations within the UAE and broader GCC region.
Demonstrated experience in lobbying, regulatory processes, and policy advocacy.
Proven ability to build and manage relationships effectively across various levels.
