If you are a Safety Leader looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Cudahy, Wisconsin manufacturing facility, you will provide knowledge and expertise in the administration and management of safety processes, regulatory agency compliance, and company policies to drive a culture of zero incidents. You will work in conjunction with the business unit and plant management to drive, model, and further develop the safety culture.
AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY LEADER, YOU WILL:
Engage with plant and corporate leadership to build strategic plans and energize plant associates in safety and environmental improvement.
Be the Voice and Leader of Safety, achieving excellence in safety performance.
Develop and implement innovative strategies, driving the culture of safety.
Develop and standardize policies, procedures, and programs aimed at improving safety performance and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Analyze any action data regarding performance against organizational metrics, incident trends, serious incidents, and regulatory and legal issues.
Organize and manage the incident investigation process within the facility using root cause analysis techniques.
Serve as Subject Matter Expert providing analytical and technical guidance related to OSHA, DOT, EPA, and local and state regulatory requirements.
Oversee Worker's Compensation injury review, investigation, and corrective actions. Collaborate with risk management, HR, and carriers to effectively manage claims.
Work closely with Plant Management and HR to problem-solve and implement solutions.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure effective equipment guarding, design, installation and compliance.
Maintain positive working relationships with facility personnel by developing and presenting weekly plant meeting safety talks and leading safety committees
Maintain and prepare facility safety performance information for monthly best practice sharing and safety scorecard reporting with our other HVACR facilities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or Safety Engineering.
5+ years of experience in the EH&S field
2+ years proven success in an Environmental and Safety Leadership role
Plant or culture transformation experience
Statistical knowledge and aptitude. Strong project, organizational, and time management
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Strong written and oral communication skills, organized, self-motivated for excellence, has a high standard of performance expectation of self, works effectively in teams
Use of the Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint as part of normal job duties
