Under the supervision of the project resident engineer, performs routine inspection monitoring tasks to confirm if proper construction supervision is being performed by others. Inspects various facets of work on the construction site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Document non-conformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist the Civil/Structural Engineer in performing the contractual duties on site.
Interface with the public, especially residents and business owners adjacent to the work to mitigate the construction impacts.
Oversee and inspect all civil & structural work and ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards.
Follow-up with the contractor and support in coordinating with the utility authority regarding connections whenever required.
Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the construction supervision works and monitors it for improvement.
Monitors and coordinates all contractors' activities for this discipline.
Performs works inspection requests and material inspection requests on a daily basis.
Support the Civil/Structural Engineer in reviewing construction submittals from project inception to close-out.
Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current re vision level and correct technical execution of the work.
Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions to ensure progress on site.
Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
Organizes the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
Initiates and maintains records, back charge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
To be successful in this role, you will posses:
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Min of 5 years postgraduate experience on large scale projects.
Revit & Other software packages is an advantage.
Regional experience.
ADM & DM registration is preferred.
A professional who can manage and coordinate specialized activity, discipline or team of moderate size and complexity.
Pro-active in resolving issues.
Good communication skills & relationship building.
