program of curative and preventive services.
Responsibilities
3.1 To perform the professional duties of a practitioner in accordance with the delineation of privileges as
recommended by the credential committee.
3.2 Determines which cases constitute an emergency, extends rapid treatment to the patient as needed, makes
quick decisions, and chooses the correct consultant for necessary additional guidance.
3.3 Upon request examines in-patients on wards/ICU, rendering immediate judgment and treatment if necessary.
3.4 Advises nursing personnel regarding medical problems; responds to radio-telephone calls from remote areas
requesting medical advice; occasionally must go on emergency ambulance trips or otherwise use good judgment
in responding to bona fide outside emergencies.
3.5 Completes all medical records and case histories promptly, indicating thereon the diagnosis and treatment
given. Is responsible for the medical accuracy, completeness and confidential nature of patients’ medical
records.
3.6 To ensure timely and accurate data to be notified to DOH of notifiable public health data and other data as per
DOH rules, regulations and standards.
3.7 Provides health counseling of patients as needed.
3.8 Attends professional and hospital meetings as directed by the HOD. Occasionally prepares cases for
presentation at ward rounds and staff meetings.
3.9 To perform duties in outpatient clinics (if and when required).
3.10 Provides on-call emergency coverage.
3.11 Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of Emergency Services.
3.12 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital
management to comply those requirements
3.13 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
3.14 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
3.15 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk
assessments, incident reports
3.16 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
3.17 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
3.18 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems
