AVP – Head of Sharia Audit Excellence & Subsidiary Governance
We are seeking a highly experienced AVP – Head of Sharia Audit Excellence & Subsidiary Governance to lead and enhance the Sharia audit framework within our client’s organization. This role is pivotal for ensuring compliance with Islamic banking principles while providing governance and advisory support to subsidiaries. The ideal candidate is an Arabic-speaking professional with extensive experience in Sharia Audit and subsidiary governance. A Certified Sharia Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) certification is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and implement a comprehensive Sharia audit framework ensuring compliance with Islamic banking principles.
- Develop and execute Sharia audit strategies across the bank and its subsidiaries.
- Ensure adherence to AAOIFI, IFSB, and other regulatory frameworks related to Islamic banking.
- Conduct periodic Sharia compliance reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Lead Sharia audit engagements and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide governance and advisory support to subsidiaries in alignment with Sharia principles.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with the Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB).
- Develop training programs to enhance awareness of Sharia compliance within the bank.
- Monitor emerging trends and regulatory changes impacting Islamic banking governance.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Fluent in Arabic and English.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Sharia Audit.
- Certified Sharia Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience managing Sharia compliance and governance in banking subsidiaries.
- Strong understanding of AAOIFI and IFSB standards.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
