IT Audit Manager (Banking)
We are seeking an experienced IT Audit Manager with a strong background in Sharia compliance to join our team in the banking sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing risk-based IT audit plans, ensuring that all IT systems and processes comply with Islamic financial regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of Islamic banking principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with Sharia governance teams and senior management.

Key Responsibilities
Audit Planning & Execution
- Develop and execute risk-based IT audit plans aligned with Sharia compliance principles.
- Evaluate IT systems, applications, and infrastructure to ensure they meet Islamic financial regulations and organizational policies.
- Identify gaps in Sharia-compliant IT systems and recommend corrective actions.
Sharia Compliance Assessment
- Collaborate with the Sharia governance team to review IT frameworks for adherence to Islamic guidelines.
- Assess the implementation of Sharia-compliant financial systems, including transactions, reporting, and automation.
- Evaluate IT controls for compliance with Sharia policies and standards.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation
- Identify IT risks related to Sharia governance and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Conduct periodic reviews of IT processes to ensure they support Sharia-compliant operations.
Audit Reporting
- Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations for Sharia compliance.
- Present audit results to senior management and the Sharia board.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with IT teams, internal auditors, and Sharia governance committees.
- Provide advisory support to IT projects to ensure alignment with Sharia requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on emerging IT audit practices, Sharia regulations, and technological advancements.
- Enhance audit methodologies to include modern technologies like cloud systems, blockchain, and AI under Sharia principles.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification CISA is a must.
- Additional certifications such as CA, CPA, CSAA, or CIA are highly desirable.
- 7+ years of experience in IT audit, with at least 3 years in Sharia-compliant financial environments.
- Strong understanding of Islamic banking principles, Sharia governance, and financial systems.
- In-depth knowledge of IT controls, risk assessment, and audit methodologies.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
