What Is the Focus of This Research Role?
The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research on the evolutionary epigenomics of plants, with a particular focus on:
- Identifying genes and epigenomic markers that evolve adaptively or contribute to stress responses
- Investigating the evolutionary dynamics of transposable elements within a population genomics and epigenomics context
- Exploring new and autonomous research ideas aligned with the lab’s interest in evolutionary genomics
What Will You Be Responsible For?
- Designing and conducting molecular biology experiments (DNA/RNA extraction and sequencing)
- Performing bioinformatic and statistical analyses of genomic and epigenomic data
- Leading research on population epigenomics and transposable elements biology
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Preparing research articles and presenting findings at scientific conferences
What Are the Job Requirements?
Education:
- PhD in Biology or a closely related field
Experience and Skills:
- Strong background in population genomics and epigenomics
- Hands-on experience in molecular techniques, including sequencing
- Proficiency in bioinformatics and statistical analysis tools
- Research experience in transposable elements biology
- Excellent communication and scientific writing skills in English
- Scientific creativity and ability to work in collaborative, interdisciplinary environments
