What Does a Visiting Professor of Public History Do?
This role involves developing and teaching public history courses within the History Program and Arts and Humanities Division. The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Designing and delivering courses focused on the theory and practice of public history
- Collaborating with public history institutions, cultural organizations, and community partners
- Supporting the curriculum\'s development in global public history
- Engaging with diverse student populations in an interactive and inclusive learning environment
- Maintaining an active research profile and contributing to university-wide service

- Teach undergraduate public history courses and supervise student projects
- Develop innovative curricula and contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives

What Skills Are Needed for a Public History Professor in Abu Dhabi?
Education:
- PhD in History, Public History, or a related field (required by August 1, 2025)
Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching
- A well-defined research agenda in public history
- Prior training in graduate-level public history
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in applied public history settings (e.g., museums, archives, historical societies)
- Interest in technology and AI applications in public history is a plus
