Operating Theater Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate the operating room scheduling system, ensuring accurate and efficient scheduling of surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists and nurse managers to optimize operating room utilization and minimize scheduling conflicts.
- Promote patient safety practices and uphold HealthHub’s commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate data management, analysis, and presentation related to theatre department activities.
- Manage surgery bookings from authorized sources and disseminate daily surgery schedules to relevant departments.
- Serve as the main point of contact within the operating theatre, maintaining procedure boards and relaying information as necessary.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Ensure continuous compliance with accreditation standards and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate the inventory of consumables in the operating theatre, maintaining par levels and managing stock inflow and outflow.
- Participate in educational opportunities and contribute to department-related activities as assigned by the manager.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience in a similar role within the UAE.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Nursing, Science, or any related discipline.
- Basic knowledge of UAE healthcare authority approvals and regulations.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and the ability to use automated surgical scheduling systems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Proven analytical ability and critical thinking skills for decision-making and problem-solving.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage frequent schedule changes.
- Proficiency in computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, email, and database software.
- Experience with conflict and complaint management in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
