Staff Nurse - PICU

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse for its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This role involves providing age-specific, patient-centered care, ensuring safe nursing practices, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality critical care to pediatric patients. The position requires expertise in pediatric intensive care, patient assessment, and care coordination.

Job Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Key Responsibilities

- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the pediatric intensive care unit based on scheduled shifts
- Perform nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for critically ill pediatric patients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and family involvement
- Coordinate and plan critical care pathways, prioritizing patient needs and interventions
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) and International Patient Safety Goals
- Administer and document narcotic, controlled, and semi-controlled drugs as per hospital policies and procedures
- Maintain clinical and professional competency based on the latest research and best practices in pediatric intensive care
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including incident reporting and medication error tracking

Required Skills and Experience

- Bachelor\'s degree in nursing or an equivalent recognized qualification from accredited institutions
- Valid nursing license/registration to practice in the home country and/or last employment country
- Minimum of two years of post-graduate experience in the intensive care unit or pediatric intensive care unit
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent according to the scope of practice
- Strong knowledge of age-appropriate care and pediatric patient developmental needs
- Excellent patient assessment, care planning, and prioritization skills in a critical care setting
