What Does an AV Technician Do?
As an AV Technician, you will manage the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of audio-visual and lighting systems across the hotel. Your work ensures that every event, meeting, and guest interaction is powered by seamless technology and quality presentation.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Operate and maintain all AV and lighting equipment across the hotel
- Respond swiftly to maintenance requests, prioritizing those with health and safety implications
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to maximize performance and longevity of systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve audio, video, and lighting issues with minimal downtime
- Support AV setups for events, meetings, and guest requests
- Maintain detailed documentation such as logbooks, schematics, and equipment records
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate smooth AV operations
- Stay informed on new AV technologies, recommending upgrades where beneficial
- Ensure full compliance with all safety procedures and operational protocols
What Skills Are Needed for an AV Technician in Dubai?
Education:
- Technical certification or diploma in Audio-Visual Technology, Electronics, or a related field
Experience:
- Prior experience in AV operations within the hospitality or events industry
- Hands-on expertise in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV systems and lighting equipment
Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of sound systems, projectors, screens, mixers, and lighting controls
