What Does an Executive Housekeeper Do?
The Executive Housekeeper oversees all housekeeping functions, including laundry, internal communication, floral arrangements, and cleanliness of both front and back-of-house areas. This role ensures luxury service delivery through high operational standards, efficient team leadership, and attention to detail.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Lead and supervise the housekeeping, laundry, and internal communication operations
- Ensure all guest rooms are prepared according to standards, including VIP rooms and turn-down service
- Oversee floral arrangements and upkeep of public areas and hotel entrance
- Maintain cleanliness of designated back-of-house areas and utility spaces
- Monitor and control housekeeping inventory, linen, uniforms, and equipment
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors, including managing pest control schedules
- Implement HACCP procedures relevant to housekeeping operations
- Drive sustainable housekeeping practices, focusing on waste and energy management
- Conduct room and public area inspections with engineering and maintenance teams
- Manage cost control and budget oversight, identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Supervise Lost & Found records and coordinate return of items to guests
- Personally inspect VIP accommodations and ensure tailored services
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless daily operations
- Maintain readiness and responsiveness for guest needs and operational issues
What Skills Are Needed for an Executive Housekeeper in Abu Dhabi?
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in housekeeping within a luxury hotel or resort
- Proven track record of managing, training, and mentoring diverse housekeeping teams
- Experience in developing and implementing hotel housekeeping procedures and SOPs
Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to manage budgets and optimize operational costs
- Effective communication and collaboration across departments
- Knowledge of HACCP procedures and environmental sustainability in hospitality
- Proficient in hotel systems and Microsoft Office tools
