What Does a Sales Manager – Events & MICE Do?
As a Sales Manager for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE), you’ll be responsible for promoting the hotel’s event and group business, building long-term client relationships, and ensuring smooth coordination of all events. Your focus will be on growing market share, enhancing guest satisfaction, and supporting the hotel’s commercial strategy.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Proactively solicit MICE, group, and event business to achieve revenue targets
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and contracts based on client requirements
- Manage negotiations and close group/event deals effectively
- Maintain updated records of accounts, activities, and follow-ups
- Attend industry trade shows, conventions, and promotional events
- Work closely with operations and event teams to ensure seamless execution
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, travel agents, and event planners
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity for strategic planning
- Provide regular reporting on account performance and pipeline
What Skills Are Needed for a MICE Sales Manager in Dubai?
Education and Experience:
- Relevant degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in hotel sales, events, or MICE segment
- Familiarity with Dubai’s corporate and events market is an advantage
Skills:
- Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and event management tools
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to remain calm and courteous in high-pressure situations
- Customer-focused with a proactive problem-solving mindset
