You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data issues, develop data validation rules, and ensure compliance with data governance standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of data modeling, and proficiency in data quality and validation tools. The ideal candidate should have experience in data engineering, Azure, Databricks, and ETL processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain data quality checks and validation processes
- Analyze and assess data quality issues, including data consistency, accuracy, and completeness
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for data validation and data quality assurance
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity
- Identify root causes of data quality issues and recommend corrective actions
- Perform data profiling, data cleansing, and data standardization to maintain data integrity
- Implement data quality metrics and reporting dashboards to monitor data quality trends
- Develop automated data validation scripts using Python and SQL
- Validate ETL processes, data transformations, and data migrations for accuracy and consistency
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards and best practices
- Provide detailed data quality reports and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data quality rules, standards, and processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data governance and reliability
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, or data quality assurance
- Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data modeling, and data governance principles
- Proficiency in configuration languages (Terraform, YAML) and version control systems (Jira, Github)
- Experience with Azure and Databricks for data processing and analytics
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL for data validation and scripting
- Experience with data lake house architecture and data warehousing solutions
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is a plus
- Experience in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with API integration and RESTful services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in migration from on-premise enterprise data warehousing to data lake is desirable
- Familiarity with data quality and validation tools and frameworks
