Lead Data Scientist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to design, prototype, and build next-generation advanced analytics engines and services. This role involves utilizing strong expertise in machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval to develop efficient and accurate analytical models that support business decision-making. As a Lead Data Scientist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including translators and data engineers, to implement scalable and sustainable analytical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, create, test, and implement complex models and algorithms that drive analytical solutions across the organization.
- Conduct advanced statistical analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance.
- Collaborate with translators to understand business problems and implement scalable solutions.
- Coordinate with Data Engineers to deliver holistic analytical solutions.
- Support translators in communicating the design, functionality, and output of analytical models.
- Ensure timely analysis and maintenance of analytical solutions over time.
- Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that guide strategic decisions.
- Build, develop, and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards, and performance metrics that support key business decisions.
- Develop and deliver data science courses as part of the advanced analytics and digital academy.
- Create processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
- BSc or preferably MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Applications, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.

Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data science, statistical analysis, and business intelligence roles.
- Domain knowledge in metal and mining, energy, heavy industry, or oil and gas is preferred.
- Experience in machine learning, statistics, optimization, and working with large data sets.
- Strong knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts, including regression, distributions, statistical tests, and hypothesis development.
- Experience with relational databases (SQL), distributed computing tools (Hadoop, Hive, Spark), and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, D3).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, and SQL.
- Experience in data mining, predictive analytics, simulation, optimization, and cloud-based data sources.
- Knowledge of data architectures, automation & control systems, and industry 4.0 applications such as big data, autonomous robots, and cloud computing.

Skills:
- Deep knowledge of machine learning models and techniques, including deployment and optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an agile mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
