- Maintain the vessel\'s navigational equipment and ensure they are in good working condition
- Conduct regular safety drills and ensure all crew members are familiar with emergency procedures
- Keep accurate records of the vessel\'s movements, cargo, and crew activities
- Monitor weather and sea conditions and make necessary adjustments to the vessel\'s course
- Maintain communication with other vessels and shore personnel
- Ensure compliance with all maritime laws and regulations
- Train and mentor junior deck officers and crew members
- Participate in regular safety meetings and inspections
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, as needed.
Requirements:
- Valid STCW certification, including Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OICNW)
- Minimum of 2 years\' experience as a 2nd Officer on a similar vessel
- Excellent navigational and ship handling skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
- Familiarity with all safety procedures and regulations
- Good physical health and ability to work at sea for extended periods of time
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
