Technician - Mechanical

Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Technician - Mechanical to perform a wide range of duties related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment. The role involves ensuring efficient operations with minimal downtime while adhering to EHS guidelines and promoting continuous improvement. This position is open to both male and female candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
- Handle mechanical equipment breakdowns and perform planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance with minimal supervision, reducing production downtime.
- Assess job requirements, select necessary tools and equipment, and complete tasks efficiently.
- Ensure all maintenance work follows safety procedures and meets plant operational requirements.
- Utilize the computerized maintenance system (SAP) to order spare parts and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Monitor recurring breakdowns and recommend or implement modifications to resolve issues.
- Identify and report abnormalities, initiate repairs, and maintain a clean working area.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required.
- Mentor newly joined mechanics, providing essential plant and equipment knowledge.
- Continuously improve EHS and plant performance by participating in activities like Suggestion Scheme, 5S, Hazard Reporting, and more.
- Collaborate with other departments for equipment repair and troubleshooting.
- Input data into maintenance management systems for work and manpower records.
- Fulfill day/shift duties as assigned by the Supervisor, working with a team of Technicians, Craftsmen, or Contractors.
- Perform daily PMs, running inspections, and checklists according to maintenance planning requirements.
- Carry out other related duties as communicated by the supervisor or technician.

Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
- Diploma in a relevant field or completion of PEC Craft Training.

Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the heavy industry after obtaining a Diploma.
- No experience required for candidates who have completed PEC Training.

Skills:
- Good proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Familiarity with maintenance tools and good computer skills.
- Experience in installation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manuals, and instructions.
