Confirm patient demographics in Meditech upon their arrival at the admissions department
Liaise with the insurance department to validate coverage, co-payments, or payment arrangements for scheduled patients.
For emergency admissions, send claim forms for insured patients and confirm financial coverage, especially for non-network cases .
Confirm co-payments and ensure the patient accepts liability for any excesses or insurance shortfalls
Liaise with non-insured emergency admissions for payment arrangements or to obtain a signed undertaking letter
Address any insurance queries or authorizations for non-contracted insurers with RCM (Revenue Cycle Management)
Maintain patient trackers for in-house patients to update management on their financial status
Ensure all patients are pre-registered in Meditech
Confirm financial coverage and co-payments before patient discharge to prevent financial loss
Collect payments, insurance excess, or co-payments at admission and issue invoices and receipts to patients
Ensure accurate entry of payments and balance cash drawers at the end of each shift in Meditech
Liaise with bed and nurse managers for ward or room assignments and reallocations
Arrange or provide escort services to guide patients to their assigned rooms or wards
Send the midnight bed view report (patient census) to the medical records department or bed manager for occupancy purposes
Follow all departmental and hospital policies, including insurance form completion and business process requirements
Comply with OSH and infection control policies, standards, and procedures, and cooperate with hospital management to ensure compliance
Work in accordance with documented OSH procedures and be familiar with emergency and evacuation protocols
Report OSH hazards, incidents, near misses, and assist in preparing risk assessments and incident reports
Comply with waste management policies and procedures
Use personal protective equipment and safety systems as required
Participate in meetings to contribute to the department's development
Create a positive environment that fosters teamwork, high morale, and a positive attitude
Participate in additional duties assigned as part of departmental requirements
Follow the shift roster to ensure consistent coverage within the admissions department
Attend applicable OSH and infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness sessions
