We are looking for a Complex Claims Analyst - E&O. The hybrid position will be based in our Chicago office but can also be based remote, if not within reasonable distance of one of the offices.

The Impact You Will Have
Complex Claims Analyst, will proactively investigate, evaluate, and negotiate resolution of assigned primary and excess E&O claims, with a primary focus on Insurance Agents & Brokers E&O claims, and secondarily on various additional types of E&O claims such as Miscellaneous, A&E, LPL, and APL, in accordance with established best practices and assure claims are handled within granted autonomy limits. The Complex Claims Analyst will also develop and maintain relationships with customers and brokers as well as internal business partners.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
Investigation and Reserving of Claims - Investigate claims that involve complex liability issues on primary and excess E&O claims.
Evaluating and addressing coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels; and selecting and directing independent external service providers (e.g. Lawyers, Independent Adjusters, Experts).
Settlement - Negotiating and resolving complex E&O claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions.
Ensuring claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines.
Referrals and Compliance - Ensuring all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AzC Claims complex procedures and guidelines.
Referring cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate; and
Supporting the establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters.
Market Management - Proactively supporting acquisition of new business and retention of existing business.
Proactively liaising with underwriters on market management initiatives and attending industry functions.
Relationship Management - Positively representing AzC externally to the market and developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients, as well as other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters);
Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, Operations.
Effectively reporting and presenting complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally.
Claims Processing & Administration - Inputting and maintaining accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AzC Claims administration systems.
Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends.
