GHD is seeking a seasoned professional for the role of Dams Field Operations Lead in California. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in geotechnical and environmental projects, specifically those involving dams, reservoirs, transportation facilities, site assessments, remediation and monitoring of contaminated soil and groundwater, as well as expertise in field and laboratory testing of soils and materials. This position will work from our Irvine office, supporting projects in the West Region.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform dam safety inspections and monitor instrumentation data.
Conduct field testing and inspection for the repair of dams and levees.
Provide QA/QC oversight for soils, asphalt, and concrete.
Observe and monitor testing for the placement and installation of HDPE, geosynthetic liners, and covers for water storage facilities, dams, and landfills.
Carry out geophysical surveys.
Perform down-hole video inspections of monitoring wells and piezometers.
Coordinate and perform field exploration and sampling.
Conduct laboratory soils testing, measurements, and readings of instrumentation on dams.
Compile results and participate in dam safety inspections.
Sample and test soil, concrete, soil-cement, and asphalt materials.
Observe earthwork construction and geotechnical exploration.
Document geotechnical and materials sampling and testing activities.
