You will manage the product contract forms regulatory approval process, which includes preparing filings through the state Department of Insurance filing system (SERFF), communicating with state regulators to answer questions about our product filings, and driving approval of our filings. You will manage the status of our filings from pre-submission to approval, which includes an understanding of prioritization, tracking submission dates, deadlines, and approval dates for 100+ filings at a time. You will understand and apply basic contract law and regulation interpretation and maintain compliance with regulatory and legal requirements related to contract filings. Establish clear and accurate communication with state regulators and internal partners. Provide support for miscellaneous projects, including legislative research, competitive research, process improvements, and 50-state assessments. Learn our products and analyze state regulations and checklists. You will report to the Product Contracting Manager.
What you do:
Filing & Process Management:
File and obtain state approvals of forms, including filing preparation and internal and external/regulator coordination and communication. Filing preparation includes preparing the administrative forms necessary for filing, preparing the filing in SERFF, providing peer reviews of other filings, submitting the filing and processing all corresponding fees. Regulator coordination and communication includes, building relationships with 50+ regulators, communicating with regulators on timelines and filing needs, addressing regulator questions and concerns about our products through the Department's formal objection process, and obtaining Department approval of our filings.
Drive the team's productivity through proactive prioritization and process management, including activity tracking and metrics for over 100+ filings at a time, document retention, and other process-related activities.
Implement and enhance our filing processes, including complying with existing procedures, identifying ways to improve efficiency, maintaining the accuracy of our written procedures, and challenging historical ways of working.
Implement approved filings to internal partners, which includes preparing an internal announcement form with information on the approved forms.
Legislative Updates and Other Legal Requests:
Ensure the compliance of previously filed forms through analysis of legislative updates, identifying the need for new forms or modifications to existing forms.
Answer requests for information on past filings, including identifying previously approved forms, filing numbers, and approval dates.
