Job Purpose
Senior Architect will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager in leading the Design and development of Construction Projects from inception to Completion. He/ She will collaborate with cross-functional teams including consultants, project managers, Commercial/ Contracts team to ensure the design vision is executed with precision, quality, and compliance to Authority regulations, budget and timeline. This role demands expertize in architectural design, project coordination, and leadership within a dynamic construction environment.
Job Responsibilities
Design Development:
Assist the Project Manager in managing the design process for construction projects, including pre-concept, concept, schematic and detailed design stages.
Review Architectural drawings, models and presentations to advise/ confirm the design intent.
Ensure all designs meet client requirements, building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability objectives.
Present design proposals and adjustments to the higher management, addressing feedback and proposing/ making necessary revisions.
Provide necessary value engineering options as and when required.
Assist the Project manager in the material selection in line with the design intent and budget.
Create designs/ design intents for the confidential projects.
Tender Management:
Review the design deliverables from the consultant including but not limited to drawings, specifications, design data etc. prior to finalize the Tender documents.
Review and advise on the supplier/ contractor/ subcontractor recommendations and prequalification from the Consultant.
Assist the Project Manager in managing the Tender Process for the Enabling Works Package, Main works Package, Provisional Sum Packages, Prime Cost Items in coordination with the consultant team and Commercial/ Contract team.
Assist in the procurement of Lead Consultant for Projects.
Project Management:
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Work closely with project managers to develop project timelines and milestones.
Monitor progress and coordinate with construction teams to resolve design-related challenges during the construction phase.
Assist in managing the material selection during construction phase.
Assist in the final take over process of the project, including review of As built drawings, warranties, O&M Manuals, preparation of intermediate and final snag list in coordination with the consultant and maintenance department.
Manage the final take over process after the Defects Liability Period in coordination with the consultant and maintenance department.
Internal Collaboration:
Preparation of necessary internal reports such as Management Information Report, Project Completion Reports, Road maps etc.
Internal Coordination with other departments including Project Maintenance and Leasing Department, Finance Department etc.
Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving
Manage necessary documentation for building permits and approvals.
Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in architecture and construction.
