Majid Al Futtaim Global Solutions is seeking a highly capable Category Associate Manager to join its growing procurement team in Cairo, Egypt. The role is responsible for executing category strategies, driving sourcing activities, managing supplier relationships, and delivering cost-effective procurement outcomes across all MAF operating companies.

What Does a Category Associate Manager Do?
The Category Associate Manager leads procurement operations across assigned categories—especially fit-out, construction, and related materials—while supporting sourcing strategy, negotiations, supplier onboarding, and cost optimization initiatives. The role collaborates with stakeholders and senior category leads to ensure the smooth execution of sourcing projects and delivery of measurable savings.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Implement strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned projects and categories
- Lead procurement planning, vendor negotiations, and agreement finalizations
- Represent the Category Manager during their absence and manage daily category operations
- Oversee supplier registration, onboarding, and compliance with procurement standards
- Analyze spend patterns, evaluate supplier offers, and calculate total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Monitor and report cost savings, category performance, and sourcing benefits to stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement of procurement governance, reporting, and sourcing tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance procurement influence and service levels
What Skills Are Needed for a Category Management Role in Cairo?
Education:
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
Experience:
- 5–6 years in procurement or category management, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory capacity
- Proven expertise in sourcing fit-out, construction, and associated services or materials
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- In-depth knowledge of SAP Ariba, Oracle, or Microsoft AX procurement systems
- Ability to manage e-sourcing tools (eRFx, eAuctions), compliance, and savings tracking
- Excellent communication, planning, and reporting skills
- Market research capabilities and data-driven decision-making experience
