Al-Futtaim Construction is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Design Management to lead and oversee the complete design process, ensuring seamless project progression from pre-concept to final construction documentation. This role is responsible for managing design consultants, ensuring high-quality design execution, and aligning project outcomes with stakeholder expectations, quality standards, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prequalify and select design consultants and subcontractors based on expertise, innovation, and alignment with project goals.
- Define and manage the design scope, contracts, and costs, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project objectives.
- Coordinate client vision, development goals, and design feasibility, ensuring seamless integration into project execution.
- Lead communication and coordination between internal and external designers to ensure design alignment and project efficiency.
- Oversee procurement and verification of design packages at each stage, maintaining compliance with project standards.
- Establish and manage design timelines, ensuring seamless integration with construction schedules.
- Monitor project budgets, assess cost impacts, and ensure compliance with financial goals.
- Manage design change processes, ensuring proper assessment, impact analysis, and approvals.
- Contribute to the continuous development of design management procedures, ensuring efficiency and industry best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Chartered Engineer status or relevant professional accreditation.
- 10 to 15 years of proven experience in design management, overseeing complex building projects from pre-concept to construction documentation.
- Strong knowledge of design standards, regulations, and construction methodologies.
- Expertise in consultant and subcontractor prequalification, design scope definition, and quality assurance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, strategic decision-making, and team collaboration.
- Proficiency in managing large-scale real estate and construction projects.
