What Does a Master Planner Do at Azizi Developments?
As a Master Planner, you will lead the design and implementation of visionary master plans, ensuring strategic alignment with Azizi’s growth and development goals. You will be instrumental in driving innovative planning solutions across residential, commercial, and public realm projects.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Oversee end-to-end master planning for mega developments – from visioning to detailed execution
- Lead and approve master plans, public realm strategies, and urban design deliverables
- Manage external consultants, RFPs, contract negotiations, and project timelines
- Develop internal master plan change policies and drive structured approval workflows
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, infrastructure, and technical teams to ensure planning consistency
- Ensure integration of sustainable urban development and regulatory compliance in all plans
- Supervise wayfinding, waste management, landscape, and lagoon design strategies
- Act as the point of contact for regulatory authorities and resolve planning challenges
- Review and enhance consultant submissions for quality, feasibility, and innovation
What Skills Are Needed for a Master Planner Role in Dubai?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s in Urban Design or City Planning preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in master planning, including senior-level roles
- Demonstrated success in client-side master plan development, preferably for large real estate or mixed-use communities
Technical & Strategic Competencies:
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across architecture, landscape, infrastructure, and urban design
- Strong knowledge of regional planning codes, sustainability frameworks, and regulatory compliance
- Experience preparing RFPs, evaluating proposals, managing consultant teams, and handling contract negotiations
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with experience in timeline and cost control
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
