Retail Design Manager - RDD
Are you a creative visionary with a passion for retail design and innovation? As a Retail Design Manager at Al-Futtaim Malls, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the attractiveness and functionality of retail spaces across operational malls in the MENA region. You will oversee tenant design submissions, manage unit refurbishments during lease renewals, and maintain the Excellence Center and materials library. This role requires balancing cutting-edge design trends with practical solutions to ensure our malls remain competitive, customer-centric, and aligned with global retail standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve tenant design submissions to ensure compliance with the Landlord’s design criteria and alignment with retail standards.
- Manage the refurbishment of units during lease renewals to maintain a fresh and modern retail environment.
- Collaborate closely with the Retail Delivery Team (RDT) to monitor design and construction progress, troubleshoot potential design and program issues, and ensure timely project delivery.
- Maintain the Excellence Center and materials library, ensuring an up-to-date inventory of sustainable and innovative design materials.
- Drive design standards and innovation by staying updated with global retail trends and implementing creative solutions that enhance customer experience and functionality.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and leasing teams, to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in retail or commercial design, including refurbishment projects, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Degree or equivalent level of education in Interior Design or Architecture.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence stakeholders effectively.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and innovation.
- Strong analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Expertise in materials selection, sustainability practices, and construction methodologies.
- Familiarity with MENA-specific building codes and regulations.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, perform under pressure, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
