What Does an Operations Manager Do?
The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of warehouse operations, including labor management, safety, space utilization, and performance monitoring. The role ensures that warehouse activities align with corporate standards and cost-efficiency goals while maintaining excellent service levels.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, picking, packing, and loading
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvement strategies
- Ensure proper use of space, labor, and equipment to maximize warehouse efficiency
- Monitor KPIs and performance metrics of logistics service providers and internal teams
- Analyze operational reports to identify improvement areas and propose corrective actions
- Drive compliance with safety, quality, sanitation, and security programs
- Support the implementation of performance management systems within the operations team
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline warehouse functions
- Ensure adherence to MAF Retail’s corporate policies and operational procedures
What Skills Are Needed for an Operations Manager Role in Dubai?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in warehouse operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably SAP EWM
- Background in FMCG or retail logistics is preferred
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage teams, labor schedules, and warehouse workflows
- Excellent understanding of warehouse safety, compliance, and inventory systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
