A Fire Marshal plays a vital role in ensuring workplace safety by actively participating in emergency response efforts, fire prevention measures, and site inspections. As part of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), this role involves responding to fire emergencies, executing rescues, and conducting proactive risk assessments to prevent incidents. Fire Marshals are also responsible for maintaining emergency equipment, enforcing fire safety regulations, and delivering training sessions to employees.

Key Responsibilities:

- Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations, including fire outbreaks and rescues
- Maintain all emergency equipment in a state of operational readiness, conducting routine checks and repairs
- Participate in continuous training programs, including drills, exercises, and professional development sessions
- Conduct fire risk assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Assist in the maintenance and testing of fire protection and detection systems
- Provide fire safety training to employees, including Fire Warden and Fire Induction courses
- Carry out salvage operations, protecting plant equipment and mitigating damage after incidents
- Maintain records of emergency calls, inspections, training, and incident responses
- Ensure personal fitness, hygiene, and uniform standards align with emergency response requirements
- Support medical teams with casualty handling as needed
- Follow EGA safety policies, reporting unsafe conditions and ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations

Job Requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a government or industrial fire department OR
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fire safety or fire engineering role OR
- A combination of the above experiences
- NFPA Firefighter 1 and 2 (1001) or equivalent certification (JOIFF/IFE Grad Certificate)
- HAZMAT Awareness 472 certification
- HAZMAT Operations 472 certification
- Highfield Level 3 First Aid certification
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
