What Does a (Senior) Manager in Controlling Do?
As a (Senior) Manager Controlling, you will play a key role in helping clients translate their business models into financial strategies. Your work will ensure that financial planning and reporting processes are effective, efficient, and aligned with strategic objectives, especially within the context of digital transformation, sustainability, and M&A trends.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Collaborate closely with clients to translate business strategies into financial KPIs and derive insights for planning and performance management
- Design innovative concepts for planning, budgeting, forecasting, and KPI-driven performance models
- Lead the implementation of modern planning and reporting solutions, including stakeholder engagement and change management coordination
- Guide and mentor interdisciplinary teams, promoting continuous development and high performance
- Contribute to thought leadership by refining Deloitte’s advisory methods, driving business development, and participating in global communities for planning and forecasting
What Are the Required Skills and Qualifications?
Education:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- Focus in Controlling, Finance, or Risk Management is a strong plus
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Controlling, Financial Planning, or Performance Management
- Proven track record in managing teams and delivering successful finance transformation projects
- Deep knowledge of performance steering, reporting tools, and budgeting processes
Skills:
- High motivation to develop innovative concepts
- Strong leadership, team orientation, and stakeholder communication skills
- Structured, agile, and result-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Fluency in both German and English, spoken and written
- Willingness to travel as needed
