- Job Purpose
As an Internal Auditor, you will play a vital role in delivering independent and objective assurance on risk management and controls across Qafco, QMC, and GFC—leading producers of Ammonia, Urea, Melamine, and Urea Formaldehyde. Working under the supervision of the Internal Audit Manager, you will contribute to strengthening internal processes and ensuring operational excellence.
- Key Accountabilities
In line with the annual audit plan approved by the Audit Committee, you will join a dedicated team tasked with reviewing and evaluating processes, controls, and procedures. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assessing Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards, including Process Safety Management.
- Auditing plant operations, performance monitoring, and reporting mechanisms.
- Reviewing the storage, handling, loading, and logistics of products.
- Evaluating predictive, preventive, and planned maintenance of plant equipment, including condition monitoring.
- Assessing inventory management of catalysts, chemicals, lubricants, spare parts, and consumables.
- Examining \"Management of Change\" guidelines.
- Reviewing plant modifications and major construction projects.
- Auditing shutdown planning and execution.
Your role will involve risk assessments, data collection, stakeholder discussions, data analysis, issue identification, audit report writing, and presentations. Additionally, you may be involved in:
- Assessing the control frameworks of QAFCO, QMC, and GFC, and reporting findings to senior management and the Audit Committee.
- Collaborating with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Conducting and reporting on ad hoc investigations as required by senior management.
- Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any discipline).
- Experience: Minimum 7 years in a large, reputable organization.
- Preferred Competencies:
- Familiarity with international standards such as API and ASME for plant processes, machinery, and equipment.
- Experience in plant performance evaluation, including capacity, production, energy efficiency, and loss point analysis.
- Knowledge of cost control optimization in production, maintenance, and ancillary units (including planned shutdowns/turnarounds).
- Skills in pre- and post-project evaluation to ensure realization of intended benefits.
- Technical expertise in inventory management for catalysts, chemicals, spare parts, and plant insurance.
- Experience in detailed energy audits and benchmarking resource consumption.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, computerized maintenance management systems, and modern planning tools.
- Strong techno-commercial understanding of business from a shareholder perspective.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft clear and concise technical reports.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to define problems and propose effective solutions.
- Proven ability to interact with all levels of management and resolve audit issues professionally.
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and data analysis tools.
