What Does a Senior Relationship Manager in Private Banking Do?
- Manage and grow a portfolio of HNWI/UHNWI clients, ensuring top-tier relationship management
- Generate new private banking business through referrals, internal network, and external partnerships
- Promote global cross-selling opportunities across FAB offices and private banking teams
- Deliver investment, fiduciary, and banking solutions tailored to client risk appetite and objectives
- Liaise with product and wealth structuring teams to provide comprehensive financial strategies
- Maintain full compliance with KYC, AML, OFAC, and internal due diligence standards
- Provide ongoing client servicing including 24/7 coverage, portfolio oversight, and reporting
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Develop new client relationships across private banking and investment product offerings
- Manage complex investment and lending needs for UHNW clients, including trusts, foundations, and offshore structures
- Collaborate with colleagues globally to facilitate cross-border investment and advisory services
- Regularly review and report on client portfolios, ensuring diversification and optimal allocation
- Assess and document financial goals, risk profiles, and wealth protection strategies for each client
- Maintain regulatory compliance with all FAB and international private banking standards
- Identify market opportunities and introduce innovative financial products to clients
- Monitor client satisfaction and relationship longevity through consistent follow-ups and service
What Skills Are Needed for a Private Banking Relationship Role in Abu Dhabi?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
- MBA or relevant professional certification (CFA, CAIA, CFP) preferred
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in private banking or wealth management, with proven client acquisition and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage ultra-high-net-worth client portfolios and offer advanced financial solutions
- Deep understanding of international wealth management, fiduciary services, and investment structuring
- Knowledge of compliance, due diligence (KYC, AML, PEP), and regulatory documentation
Personal and Technical Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to build and maintain trusted client relationships
- High emotional intelligence and discretion when dealing with sensitive financial matters
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with global teams and departments
- Proficiency in portfolio management systems and CRM tools
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic or languages of key client segments is a plus
