Senior Mechanical Designer Job Vacancy in UAE Dubai
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our technical team. This role involves preparing technical document packages for the design and fabrication of modular TIAC (Turbine Inlet Air Cooling) Plants, CHP (Combined Heat & Power), Mission Critical, and District Cooling Plants. The Senior Mechanical Designer will collaborate with engineers throughout the design process, ensuring the creation of high-quality fabrication coordination packages.

Key Responsibilities
- Generate detailed AutoCAD drawings and 3D model views to convey fabrication requirements for piping systems, structural supports, electrical equipment, chillers, heat exchangers, and pump systems
- Review project specifications and participate in product development and improvement initiatives
- Work closely with engineers to fully understand project designs and ensure seamless execution
- Participate in project team meetings and execution activities
- Extract master mechanical component lists from project P&IDs
- Collaborate with the fabrication team throughout the system-building process
- Review design documents to ensure constructability and compliance with equipment specifications
- Coordinate with procurement and fabrication teams to exchange information throughout the project lifecycle, including coordination with on-site personnel
Job Requirements
- Minimum two-year associate degree in drafting or a related technical discipline
- Experience with AutoCAD software
- At least 4 years of experience in piping and equipment design and drafting
- Minimum 4 years of experience with industrial systems fabrication
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D AutoCAD and Bentley mechanical and structural software
- Knowledge of pressure piping design, fabrication, and testing
- Understanding of pressure piping and structural steel codes of construction
- Basic knowledge of structural, electrical, and control systems
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or education in system design or engineering
- Experience in power plant or large HVAC design projects
- Experience with industrial mechanical systems construction
- Knowledge of structural steel design and fabrication
- Familiarity with mechanical equipment such as pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers
- Experience using 3D software such as AutoCAD, Bentley AutoPlant, Prosteel, or Advance Steel
Work Environment
- Office-based role with regular visits to the energy fabrication facility, requiring personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and head protection
- Occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 25 pounds
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines
Travel Requirements
- Up to 20% travel, including overnight stays and local day travel as needed
