What Does a Kitchen Steward Do?
As a Kitchen Steward, you are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen and service areas. Your work supports the smooth operation of the culinary team and helps maintain a safe, hygienic, and organized work environment.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Ensure all surfaces and kitchen areas are cleaned and sanitized to hygiene standards
- Operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment correctly and efficiently
- Safely handle chemicals and cleaning agents according to hotel procedures
- Keep kitchen floors clear of hazards and ensure safe working conditions
- Remove waste and ensure garbage areas are hygienically maintained
- Monitor and control usage of cleaning supplies and report replenishment needs
- Assist kitchen team by organizing and maintaining utensils and kitchenware
- Maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Respond quickly to cleaning requirements during busy service periods
What Skills Are Needed for a Kitchen Steward in Abu Dhabi?
Education:
- High school education certificate preferred
Experience:
- Previous experience as a kitchen steward in hotels or restaurants is a plus
Skills:
- Basic understanding of cleaning equipment and chemical usage
- Awareness of food safety and hygiene practices
- Physically fit and comfortable standing, lifting, and moving for long periods
- Good teamwork, communication, and time management
- Dependable and detail-oriented with a strong sense of cleanliness
