What Does a Quality and Sustainability Officer Do?
The Quality and Sustainability Officer supports the implementation of quality assurance systems and sustainability initiatives across the resort. From conducting audits to driving eco-friendly improvements, this role ensures the hotel maintains world-class standards while contributing to environmental responsibility.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring quality and sustainability procedures
- Conduct regular quality audits to evaluate adherence to operational standards
- Address quality concerns, investigate issues, and provide technical support across departments
- Collaborate with operations, production, and procurement teams to uphold product and service quality
- Analyze and respond to guest feedback and complaints related to quality matters
- Support the roll-out of sustainability initiatives that align with resort objectives
- Track and report key sustainability metrics, including waste, water, energy, and carbon footprint
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and industry benchmarks
- Identify and implement energy-saving and resource conservation opportunities
- Participate in risk management, quality control, and compliance improvement programs
- Maintain documentation of audits, sustainability activities, and quality reports
- Prepare presentations and updates for internal stakeholders and management reviews
What Skills Are Needed for a Quality and Sustainability Officer in Abu Dhabi?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Quality Management, or related field
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in quality control, environmental sustainability, or related functions
- Experience in the hospitality sector or luxury service environment is a plus
Skills:
- Knowledge of quality systems and environmental standards (e.g., ISO, LEED, HACCP)
- Strong analytical and data reporting skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with quality/sustainability software tools is beneficial
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Problem-solving mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
