DP World’s P&O Maritime Logistics is hiring a Fleet Technical Superintendent to oversee the repair, maintenance, and dry-docking operations of its global fleet. Based at the Corporate Office in Dubai, this role ensures cost-effective, timely, and compliant execution of technical projects across offshore support vessels, working closely with global operations, procurement, and engineering teams.

What Does a Fleet Technical Superintendent Do?
- Manage fleet-wide repair, survey, upgrade, and dry-docking activities in coordination with regional and global technical teams
- Oversee procurement of technical materials and liaise with insurance brokers regarding technical claims
- Prepare and execute detailed project and docking specifications
- Lead vessel visits and inspections, and supervise contractors, OEM engineers, and shipyard personnel
- Monitor preventive maintenance through systems like NS5 and ensure operational readiness
- Coordinate with country managers, regional engineers, and central procurement on all technical operations
- Control technical costs, develop annual docking budgets, and support vendor evaluations
- Support compliance with classification societies and ensure alignment with global fleet strategies
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Lead and supervise all technical projects including special surveys, major breakdowns, and upgrades
- Collaborate on budget planning and cost control for fleet technical operations
- Ensure project documentation and daily progress reports are recorded accurately and submitted to management
- Maintain and update vessel records within the NS5 Planned Maintenance System
- Participate in technical audits and reviews to enhance future project efficiency and compliance
- Provide hands-on support during key project phases and ensure safety standards are met at all times
- Contribute to the technical knowledge base of the organization through documentation and best practices
What Skills Are Needed for a Fleet Technical Superintendent in Dubai?
Education:
- Marine Engineering Class 1 Motor (Class 2 may be considered)
- Degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years as a Chief Engineer on offshore support vessels and 5+ years in a shore-based supervisory role
- Or, 10 years of experience as a shore-based Technical or Dry Docking Superintendent
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in fleet repair, docking, project planning, and equipment lifecycle management
- In-depth knowledge of NS5, AMOS, or similar Planned Maintenance Systems
- Proficiency in reading and preparing technical drawings (CAD)
- Familiarity with major Class Society requirements (ABS, DNV-GL, BV)
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership, vendor management, and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to safety, cost, and compliance
- Willingness to travel internationally to inspect and support vessel operations
