What Does a Government Services Manager Do?
As the Government Services Manager, you will lead the Immigration and MOHRE teams, manage all visa-related activities, and ensure alignment with UAE labor regulations. You will support all employing entities within the Al-Futtaim Group in the UAE, optimize service delivery, improve employee experience, and introduce innovative tools for compliance and reporting.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Lead and develop a team responsible for immigration and MOHRE operations
- Manage new joiner, renewal, cancellation, and visa transfer processes
- Ensure full compliance with UAE labor laws and government protocols
- Collaborate with HRIS and Group departments to improve process automation
- Serve as a point of contact with government departments and typing centers
- Provide advisory support to HR teams and senior management on regulatory matters
- Analyze visa and labor-related data for reporting and performance tracking
- Implement process improvements through AI tools, bots, and digital solutions
- Support organizational change, expansion, and Emiratization goals
- Maintain SLAs, KPIs, and governance standards across all government transactions
What Skills Are Needed for a Government Relations Role in the UAE?
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HR operations or government services
- Experience in shared services or large corporate environments is preferred
Core Competencies:
- Strong understanding of UAE labor law and government regulations
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR tech platforms like SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, or Workday
- Data analysis and reporting capabilities for HR performance insights
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
